British sailing is golden

Well done to Ben Ainslie, Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson, Britain's newest Olympic gold medalists in sailing. Do I need to say something here about how the same British maritime history and tradition of excellence that buoyed these ladies and gentleman to victory in Beijing can and should also be celebrated by re-building one of the most famous British sailing ships of all time? Nah...

Hands up who thought Yngling was a typo for Angling. I certainly did when I saw the headlines. I'd expect us Brits to do pretty well in angling. One for the 2012 London games perhaps.

Well, damn, I only just realised I missed my big chance to use the title, "Britannia rules the waves."

I have about 15000 miles sailing in my logbook, have sailed all manner of boats and I am not sure I have Yngled once.

Yes congrats to all concerned, although I stick to my long held opiion that for something to really be called a boat, it has to be big enough to have a kitchen in it.
