With apologies to Frank Sinatra

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving Wednesday
I'm off to tree barcode-of-life
in old New York

These sensible shoes
Are longing to stray
And go walking in Central Park
New York, New York

I want to wake up to a bagel and cream cheese
Then find my way to the Bronx and NYBG

These London town blues
Aren't melting away
'cause there's a Down House replica
in old New York

If I can make it there
I'll make it ...well... there
It's up to you
New York, New York.

H&H Bagels on 80th and Broadway (easy walk from the natural history museum!) makes bagels throughout the day - get whatever's hot. Oh, sweet H&H, I pine for you from my SoCal exile. They only sell whole bagels, though - you'll have to construct your own cream cheese concoction. Email me if you'd like more two-years-out-of-date recommendations!

Thanks for the recommendation, Miriam. Mmmm. I pine away for bagels too - the Brits wouldn't know a good bagel if it hit them over the head.
